Our team will be installing Imunify360 on all of our hosting servers this coming weekend. Imunify360 is an enterprise grade security suite offering a vast amount of proactive security tools including firewall, intrusion protection, malware scanning and more. Imunify360 will replace all other security software we currently have installed on our hosting servers.

The installation and configuration will require a restart of all of our cPanel servers. During the restart, all services will be down briefly and should be up and running again within a hour after the restart. We dont' anticipate any extended downtime.

We will be moving our networking switches power input to the secondary breakers to ensure no downtime during the Datacentre testing which will result in a couple of minutes downtime while the networking equipment restarts.

We have completed the neccesary upgrades to the host that will house our rcp1.intelli.host server and are ready to move rcp1.intelli.host to it's final home. Unfortunately, due to the size of our cPanel based servers, we are unable to do a live migration and for your safety, we need to physically shutdown the cPanel server and make a full copy of the server its cloud host. The copy of the entire virtual server (rcp1.intelli.host) is estimated to take around 5 hours. Once the copy is done, rcp1.intelli.host will immediately be booted on the new hardware. In the event of any issues related to the copy of the server, we'll start rcp1.intelli.host on the current hardware and reschedule maintenance.

As part of our recent datacentre upgrades, we need to perform server hardware upgrades to each cloud host we have at our datacentre and upgrade Citrix Hypervisor on each host. To avoid any possibility of issues related to these upgrades, we need to move all of the virtual machines we host on each cloud host to our failover network to safely perform upgrades to the servers. Unfortunately, due to the size of our cPanel based servers, we are unable to do a live migration and for your safety, we need to physically shutdown the cPanel server and make a full copy of the server to our failover network and boot it up there again after the full copy has been completed. The copy of the entire virtual server (rcp1.intelli.host) is estimated to take around 6 hours. Once the copy is done, we'll immediately boot up the server again in the failover environment and all services will be back online.

Once the upgrades to the cloud host has been completed, we'll perform stress testing on the host for a week and upon successful results, schedule maintenance again to move the cPanel server back to its original cloud host. In all events we'll schedule downtime outside of business hours to ensure you're not affected by the downtime. Although you may not be able to send any emails out during the copy process, all clients making use of SpamExperts will have any mails sent during the window period delivered once the server comes back online.

Following our maintenance with Citrix yesterday which was successful, we have completed the neccesary upgrades to the host that will house our cp1.intelli.host server and are ready to move cp1.intelli.host to it's final home. Unfortunately, due to the size of our cPanel based servers, we are unable to do a live migration and for your safety, we need to physically shutdown the cPanel server and make a full copy of the server its cloud host. cp1.intelli.host Emergency Maintenance

This only affects accounts hosted on cp1.intelli.host

Following our recent copy of cp1.intelli.host to our failover network, Citrix has advised us to perform additional maintenance on the server to fix an issue with duplicate snapshot sizes created. Since a failed snapshot taking place sometime last year, the snapshot size exported is about double the size of the actual server. This leads to the snapshots taking twice the timeframe it should take which leads to unneccesary disk overhead and extended performance issues. During this maintenance window we need to shutdown the server again and make another copy of the VM to the same failover network. Citrix believes this will resolve the incorrectly linked broken snapshot. We expect a much shorter window period than last Friday and will again start the server once the full copy has taken place. 

We sincerely apologise for the inconvinience, we have taken each possible step to avoid further downtime but unfortunately Citrix listed this as the only option. We will be working with the Citrix team during this window period.

Network Upgrades at our Samrand Datacentre

Details:

Please be aware that the maintenace originally scheduled for the 9th of February has been rescheduled for the 16th of February 2019.

We will be performing upgrades to our Samrand datacentre:

  • We will be moving our servers to a new server rack
  • We’re upgrading our network to a 10GB network which will greatly improve performance to all Intellihost services
  • We’re upgrading our Redstor backup servers
  • Installation of new hosts specifically for cPanel and VM based backups

During this move, our team will physically move our infrastructure to it’s new rack, which means that all servers will have some downtime during this move which will result in inaccessibility of services hosted with us. Although we’ve scheduled maintenance for the entire day on Saturday, downtime will be far less per server as we’ll keep all servers running in the old rack and only move 1 physical host server at a time.

ZACR System Down - Incorrect Domain Notifications

Details:

The ZACR domains system went down at 20:00 last night which led to a large number of false positives during our domain sync status checks. This led to emails being sent that domains were terminated which was not the case. We have switched off the domain sync process whilst we investigate the issue and impliment a fix to ensure that even if the ZACR system is down, that our system will not attempt to further check for updates or terminations during this period.

Updates and Notes:

The ZACR system appears to be operational again and we have also implimented a fix to ensure that domain sync will rather skip and processing when it detects that the ZACR or EPP system is down. We are currently doing some last testing before we disable maintenance mode at 10:00.

We have also set back all domains that was affected to their original statuses.
